It is used to measure a persons heart rate by simply holding the device in front of a face and then it can calculate a persons heart rate without ever touching the screen.The application works by measuring the amount of blood pumped into the users face as their heart beats, which causes more light to be absorbed, and less light is reflected from their face. Cardiio uses the camera on your iPhone or iPad to determine the little changes in reflected light that is not visible to the human eye. The accuracy of Cardiio is within 3 beats a minute. The application gives the user their heart rate in numerous situations and also provides the user with daily, weekly, and monthly visualizations of their heart rate. Cardiio can tell the user their fitness level as well as their potential life expectancy. The user can also compare their heart rates to see how they rank with the rest of the world.
